Backpacker Hostel Townsville

The Adventurers Resort in Townsville is located about 10 minutes walk from the town center. The first thing to mention here is the HUGE kitchen – we have never seen anything like this anywhere in Australia before! But how many people actually use it? Not a lot, surprisingly. The room on the 2nd floor in the 2-storey complex was OK, nothing to fret about. It can just be a little noisy at night when people sitting infront of their rooms talking. Also a lot of weird people stayed here, most seemed to be locals who actually LIVE here. The toilets/showers are outside, a short walk around the inner circle. Somehow this whole complex had the charm of a prison. But the staff at the reception was really nice and helpful. They can book all sorts of trips for you, including the ferry to Magnetic Island.

XBase Townsville is located just inside the buscenter in Townsville. The location is perfect as you don’t need to carry your luggage a long way to the nearest hostel when you arrive here by bus. The XBase has quite modern interior, everthing looked new and shiny when we stayed here. However, it’s a bit noisy and crowded, rooms sometimes not as clean, depending on the people who stay there.
